About Us

The Hardy Plant Society was formed to foster interest in hardy herbaceous plants and the Scottish and Northern Borders Group has members all over Scotland and in the north of England.

The Scottish and Northern Borders Group organises a programme of garden visits in spring, summer, and autumn, arranged at locations throughout Scotland. In the winter months, we offer lecture days and online talks by garden experts.

We also organise an annual garden tour, visiting a variety of gardens both large and small, over four or five days. This is usually in the UK in June and sometimes we venture further afield.

We produce a twice-yearly journal, Northern Leaves, with reports on garden visits, the annual tours, and photos of the gardens visited. There are also adverts from a number of specialist nurseries in Scotland, so you may discover one near you that you were unaware of.
